The Mission Mop Story

In December 2007, a Canadian yarn supplier sent a package introducing state-of-the art microfiber mop yarn to East Shore Industries, Inc., Mission® Mop's parent company. This package inspired the idea to develop a mop that would rival the leading mops on the market. Through research and development, the mop designers developed an innovative method for knitting a durable microfiber mop pad.

Mission® Mop was born in the spring of 2008!

The Mop

Mission® Mops are made using the latest in microfiber technology design to provide you with a superior mop that cleans more dust, dirt, and grime and absorbs more water than its traditional counter. It is also sustainable, chemical-free, and environmentally friendly.

The Mission

While our #1 goal is to create the highest quality, environmentally friendly mop for our customers, our mission is to help disabled individuals find employment, independence, and self-fulfillment. East Shore Industries, Inc. is the nonprofit (501c3) parent company that sells Mission® Mop and helps approximately 100 disabled individuals every year. Every Mission® Mop is knitted with care and pride by our employees with disabilities.

Our Workers

We currently are serving people with a variety of circumstances ranging from developmental disabilities to Alzheimer's disease. While working for Mission® Mop, each disabled individual has an employment program catered to his or her specific disability and employment goal. Through various day service programs, school-to-work transition programs, and community job placement programs, we are giving these individuals both tangible and intangible rewards.
